The Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts at MacArthur Park
KOREAN INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

This summer marks the first concert season at the newly restored bandshell at MacArthur Park, now the Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts at MacArthur Park. Thirty concerts will be presented free of charge to the community beginning Wednesday, August 8 and culminating with the season finale weekend on Saturday, September 15 and Sunday, September 16.

The summer concert season at the Levitt Pavilion will feature Korean Independence Day Celebration which will take place this Wednesday, August 15 and will be produced by The Friends of the Levitt Pavilion - MacArthur Park, a non-profit organization committed to bringing an annual summer concert season featuring cultural diverse performances, free of charge to the community at MacArthur Park.

The Korean Independence Day Celebration will take place at the Levitt Pavilion at MacArthur Park which is located in the northwest corner of the park near the intersection of West 6th Street and S. Park View Street. This is a FREE event. Festivities will begin at 6:30 as follows:

6:30 pm HanNuRi Korean American Cultural Troupe – Skillful performance of the Korean art form
Poongmul Nori folk percussion, thrillingly intertwined with captivating dance and movement
7:00 pm Celebration Ceremony
7:30 pm Kim Eung Hwa Korean Dance Academy - Sublime artistry of Korean traditional dance
and music, elegant appeal, graceful movement and visually exquisite

The Friends of the Levitt Pavilion invites the Korean community of Los Angeles to attend this event which will be wonderful as it celebrates Korean heritage and culture.
