[Budget Cuts] Call State Legislators TODAY or MONDAY

Dear KRC Volunteer,

California State legislators have been working hard to hold the line and not make cuts in immigrant and public health programs. Please call in and contact the two chairs of the Budget Conference Committee. They will be voting in the next couple of days on what cuts to make in immigrant, health and human service programs.

Thanks to your support, KRC has collected more than 3,000 signatures against the cuts in these programs and we plan on delivering them to the Governor along with a protest on June 27th.

Please call Senator Denise Ducheny (916-651-4040) and Assembly Member John Laird (916-319-2027) either TODAY or MONDAY to deliver the following message:

My name is (NAME) and I live in (CITY) in California. I am a member of the Korean Resource Center. I want to thank the (Senator/Assembly Member) and the budget committee, because I heard they rejected cuts in CAPI, Medi-Cal and Healthy Families. I think those are very important programs for our community. Could you tell the (Senator/Assembly Member) that I would like (her/him) to defend low-income families, and to make no concessions to the Governor?
