•역사교실
21세기를 앞둔 우리 민족의 현실에서 근, 현대 1백년사에 대한 재조명을 통해 동포청년들에게 주어진 역사적 과제에 대해 모색하는 교실
언 제: 4월, 매주 3시간씩 진행 (6회)
내 용: 조국 근, 현대사 1백년

•사회교실
청년들을 대상으로 미국사회, 재미동포사회와 조국의 현실과 사회문제에 대해 올바른 의식을 가질 수 있도록 연구하는 교실
언 제: 4월 초, 매주 3시간씩 진행

•어린이뿌리교실 - 봄학기
미국에서 자라는 2세 어린이들에게 우리의 말과 문화를 통해 올바른 가치관과 정체성을 심어주고자 만들어진 교실
언 제: 4월 - 6월, 토요일 오전 10- 오후 3시까지
참가비: 월 35달러
대 상: 1-4학년

•문화교육통신 - 99년 4월호 (2호)
우리가 살고 있는 시대와 현실을 반영하고 생각을 되새기게 하는 시사자료와 교육자료를 편집하여 격월로 발송되는 통신문
언 제: 4월 중순
구독료: 년 50달러
대 상: 구독 신청자

•아동 청소년 건강보험 무료 신청대행
대 상: 19세 미만 자녀를 둔 가주 거주 가정
현재 의료보험이 없는 자녀
혜택범위: 일반치료, 치과 및 안과
보 험 료: 가정의 수입으로 산정 (무료 또는 염가)

ꁾ 유권자교육 프로젝트
민족학교에서는 LA시 (예비지명)선거를 맞아 한인커뮤니티의 선거참여 향상을 위해 4월 13일(화) 선거당일 민족학교 건물을 투표장으로 사용하고 있습니다. 또한 한인 투표관리인(pollworker) 모집을 위해 LA시 선거관리국과 4월 7일(수) 오후 6시 민족학교 강당에서 우리말로 교육을 진행합니다.

•출구조사 자원봉사자 모집
한인유권자 포함 아시안 유권자의 투표 경향과 선거 참여 특성을 조사 할 출구조사 자원봉사자를 모집합니다. 투표관리인 또는 출구조사 자원봉사에 관심있는 분은 323. 937. 3718 민족학교로 연락하십시오.

•유권자 등록
6월 8일 로스앤젤레스 일반선거를 앞두고 LA시 거주 한인들을 대상으로 유권자등록 활동을 5월 10일까지 할 계획입니다.

ꁾ 이민자 권익옹호 프로젝트
5월 19일 ‘이민자의 날’ 4주년을 맞아 타민족 단체들과 함께 이민자 커뮤니티의 권익옹호와 올바른 정책 수립을 촉구하기 위한 주정부로비활동을 새크라멘토 주청사에서 가질 예정입니다. 참여를 위하시는 단체나 개인은 민족학교로 연락하십시오

New Programs for Spring, 1999

ꁾ Education
• History Class
As we approach the new millenium, this course will examine the last 100 years of modern Korean history including Korean immigration and how it impacts our current lives.
Time: April, three hours per week for six weeks

• Social Issues Class
This class helps young Korean Americans build a framework for understanding current social issues within American society, the Korean American community and Korea.
Time: April, three hours per week

• Saturday "Roots" Program - Spring Session
This program aims to help Korean American children develop a sense of belonging and identity as an ethnic minority growing up in America.
Time: April ~ June, Saturdays from 10 am to 3 pm
Fee: $35 per month
Ages: Grades K to 3

• Culture/Education Correspondence
KRC will produce a collection of media clippings covering current social issues impacting the lives of Korean Americans. This regular publication will be mailed bimonthly to subscribers for a $50 annual fee.

Ages: Individuals over the age of 30
Time: April, two hours per week
Fee: $20 per month

Eligibility: Children under the age of nineteen, without health insurance coverage
Health Insurance Coverage: Complete Health,
Dental and Vision
Insurance Fee: The amount is free or at a low cost depending on the applicant's monthly income

ꁾ Voter Education Project
KRC's Voter Education Project aims to educate and facilitate Korean American electoral participation through a range of activities. For the coming LA City April primary and June general elections, KRC will be a polling site. KRC will also be working with the LA City Election Division to help recruit pollworkers by serving as a training site on April 7.

• APA Exit Poll of Southern California
Once again, KRC will participate in the APA Exit Poll for the coming LA City Elections. KRC is also helping to recruit volunteers who would like to help poll voters on election day. Interested individuals should contact KRC.

• Voter Registration Drive
KRC will be registering potential voters for the June LA City general elections. Registration deadline is May 10.

ꁾ Immigrant Rights Project
On May 19, Immigrant Day IV will be held with activities in Sacramento including a series of legislative visits. Each year, this event allows immigrant communities to highlight the concerns and contributions of immigrant Americans to the members of the California State Assembly.
