We Stand for DACA! Thursday Weekly Vigil

DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival) is former President Obama’s executive order that protects roughly 800,000 undocumented youth from deportation and grants them rights to work in the United States to support their families and communities. Even before he came into office, President Trump has been constantly attacking DACA and tried to rescind the program entirely in September 2017, threatening the safety and livelihoods of 800,000 DACA recipients and their families. Nevertheless, the program remained open for the existing DACA recipients due to the enormous support and advocacy from the immigrant community.

We need our community to show up again as DACA is facing its final decision in November - on November 12th, Supreme Court will hold a hearing to decide whether the recission of DACA was lawful or not, determining the future of 800,000 undocumented youths. To stand with our undocumented community, we invite you to join our weekly vigils, for just an hour in your week, to show community support to influence Supreme Court’s decision in the right way. The vigil will host an open and welcoming space for community members to come advocate, share their thoughts and also share their talents (open mic).
